The Hiranandani Group's Niranjan Hiranandani and YourStory's founder and Shradha Sharma invested an unknown sum in Goodfellows, a senior companionship firm, on Thursday.

According to a news release, the Ratan Tata-backed business intends to use the funds to boost its operations in Mumbai, expand services to other locations such as Pune, Kolkata, and Bengaluru, and apply techniques to handle platform problems.
Hiranandani & Sharma will join the advisory board of the startup.
"Goodfellows has recognized the problem, sought a solution, and developed a concept around it." This is what makes it beautiful and one-of-a-kind. It is an idea that is required in today's society," said Hiranandani, the Hiranandani Group's managing director and co-founder.
Goodfellows was formed by entrepreneur Shantanu Naidu in December 2021 and launched early September 2022 with a modest investment from Tata Sons' chairman emeritus, Ratan Tata.
The Mumbai-based platform that provides companionship to a elderly in their daily routines was set to begin full-fledged operations early in the year and. It launched a test version of the its platform late last year and has onboarded around 20-25 subscribers as of December 2021, with 15 staff.
Naidu stated that the initiative intends to develop gradually by screening 'Goodfellows' based on their emotional intelligence. Given its target population, the entrepreneur expects the site to be less tech-heavy and more focused on personal contact.
Goodfellows is one of the first such startups in India's senior care assisted services segment, focusing on senior companionship, while other players primarily include non-profit organizations and senior care providers such as Antara Senior Care and Pune-based retailer Seniority, which provides health and lifestyle products for senior citizens.
